About green fuse therapy

I am a registered art psychotherapist and integrative counsellor working in West Norwood, South Croydon and surrounding areas. My approach combines skills from psychodynamic therapy, expressive arts therapy, body therapy and mindfulness. Through these methods, I seek to respond with empathy and creativity to each person’s unique needs and preferences.

What to expect?

I offer a form of psychotherapy in which clients are invited to communicate and explore issues through a range of creative media in addition to talking at depth. This method offers a way to describe and release thoughts and feelings that are hard to put into words. As well as reducing stress, the use of expressive imagery can engage and harness left brain emotional intelligence and bring a new vitality to the process of working through life challenges or difficulties and recovering from hurts.

As everyone has the natural creativity needed for this approach, it is not necessary to have any artistic ability in order to benefit. I enable each client to access their imagination in a way that feels satisfying and appropriate to their aims in seeking therapy.

Following an initial consultation to assess whether we can work well together, I typically see clients for a block of six to twelve sessions and noticeable changes are often achieved. .Clients with more distressing or entrenched issues will normally benefit from longer term therapy.

Issues I work with:

I work with individuals with a wide range of issues including: job-related, social or parenting stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, despair, low self esteem, negative body image, binge eating, lack of motivation, self limiting habits, self harm, relationship issues, loss and bereavement, unresolved trauma, life transitions, creative blocks, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and stress related health conditions.

Further information:

I work in line with HCPC and UKCP professional codes of practice; this means that the work is confidential and focused on serving your interests, and that I seek ongoing professional mentoring from a qualified supervisor and am fully insured.

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly at the regular time agreed between us. As mentioned, the work can be shorter or longer term depending on requirements.

What’s the next step?

It can feel daunting to seek professional help with personal life difficulties, however most people find it easier than anticipated to talk about issues and experiences with a non-judgmental and attentive listener. I am committed to offering a confidential, empathic space where you can speak freely and feel understood.
